The same principle applies to litigation communication: if you ask the wrong questions, you'll probably get the wrong answer, or at least not quite what you are hoping for.
Asking the right questions is at the heart of effective communication and litigation persuasion. By using effective questions and active listening, you can improve a whole range of communication and persuasion skills.
Join nationally recognized trial consultant Patricia Kuehn to explore alternative questioning techniques and how to use them. Learning how to ask questions differently can open a world of possibilities. Mindful that most cases settle prior to trial, the methods and skills discussed in this program aid the lawyer from case selection to jury selection. Specific application at various stages will be introduced and practiced.

Patricia (Patty) Kuehn is a national litigation consultant specializing in the science of human decision-making and persuasion. Since 1993 she has observed, studied, and interacted with over 10,000 jury eligible citizens about litigation issues. She regularly conducts mock decision-making research, collaborates with attorneys on witness preparation, assists and advises clients on courtroom persuasion and strategic jury selection. In 2009 the federal court qualified her as an expert in small group decision making.
Ms. Kuehn currently serves as President of the American Society of Trial Consultants and holds a Master’s degree in Social Psychology and a J.D. Using her extensive experience and knowledge of jury (and other factfinders’) decision-making tendencies she collaborates with attorneys to construct compelling and prevailing litigation strategy, courtroom narratives, and strategic jury selection plans. Her trial consulting practice is based in the Chicago metropolitan area.
