Continuing Legal Education
A cornerstone of NJAJ's mission is to advance the education and skills of its members. Our Boardwalk Seminar features over 29 concurrent seminars on subjects such as personal injury, matrimonial, employment, workers' compensation and criminal law for both attorneys and support staff. Periodic seminars, on such topics as the new auto insurance law and tort law updates are offered to keep members on the cutting edge of new developments and legislation affecting their practice. Many of these programs feature exhibitions of products and services for the legal community.

Seminar Web
A nationwide online seminar service and archive for plaintiff lawyers created by participating state trial lawyer associations, including NJAJ. You can access seminar papers, articles, and speeches in audio format and discussion forums for each program, both past NJAJ seminars and those from other Trial Lawyer Associations around the country.


There is no substitute for experience. One of the greatest benefits of your NJAJ membership is immediate access to a large pool of attorneys with broad experience, niche areas of expertise, diverse points of view, and a statewide network of resources. 

List Servers
NJAJ offers List Servers for eight different practice areas plus an allied support staff and an Off-Topic list. If you join a List Server, you can e-mail questions about your cases, inquiries about experts and announcements that may be helpful to other members. When you join a List, you can send one e-mail to a specific e-mail address and your message is instantly e-mailed to every other NJAJ member on the List. It's like having 800 partners who can all be e-mailed at the same time for advice.

Case Evaluation and Strategy Clinics
The Clinics are designed to give an in-depth, confidential review of your specific pending case. The panelists, all experienced trial attorneys, will discuss theories of liability, damages, negotiation and trial strategies, experts, witness preparation, and discovery procedures.


Timely, accurate and comprehensive information is imperative to your success. As an NJAJ member, you will have access to an ever-growing library of online and disk-based resources, including TrialSmith. TrialSmith is the largest on-line litigation bank on the Internet with more than 500,000 depositions, with more than 9 million database items reference experts and case topics linking plaintiff lawyers to critical information including depositions, expert leads, trial testimony of experts, verdict settlement data and more. Designed by plaintiff lawyers, TrialSmith was the first archive in the nation giving plaintiff lawyers online access to deposition transcripts 24-hours a day from their computer or mobile device.

NJAJ's free document exchange library is located online in the CourtDocs section of TrialSmith.com. The library provides NJAJ members with a free online repository for uploading, storing and searching through private briefs, interrogatories, complaints, sample voir dire, etc. And access to NJAJ's CourtDocs is provided with a complimentary TrialSmith account giving you free access to NJAJ's CourtDocs and List Servs archives.

Exposing Deceptive Defense Medicine

On May 11, 2021 the NJAJ Educational Foundation sponsored the Exposing Deceptive Defense Medicine 2021 seminar.

More than 4,400 reports and depositions of defense doctors and corporate representatives is available for purchase. This is an invaluable resource that can benefit your clients.

The link to Dropbox also includes materials from the 2013, 2015, 2017 & 2019 seminars. These materials are only available to Regular Members* (see definition below) of NJAJ at a cost of $595 plus tax. 
These depositions and reports are normally sold for $30 each (a $50,000 value).

Demonstrating that the sum is truly greater than its parts, NJAJ actively advocates for its members and their clients through lobbying at the state level and Amicus involvement in relevant cases.

Government Relations
Our Governmental Relations staff lobbies aggressively at the state level to protect the legal rights of the injured person; reduce auto insurance costs and create a fairer system for all New Jersey drivers by repeal of the No-Fault system; hold HMOs accountable for the medical decisions they make; and promote a safer environment at home, at work and at play.

Amicus Activity
NJAJ advocates for you and your clients in the Courthouses. Our Amicus Committee and members of NJAJ participate in a significant number of important cases at both the Appellate level and in the Supreme Court for the benefit of NJAJ members and your clients. Amicus involvement in cases including Perreira v. Rediger, Lowe v. Zarghami, Miller v. Sperling, Cornblatt v. Dunphy, Burns v. Belafsky and Miller v. Estate are indicative of the outstanding work of the NJAJ members who advocate pro bono for the betterment of the civil justice system.

NJAJ advocates in the courts on important issues such as the JUA and AICRA regulations when necessary.

The NJAJ PAC is the political action committee of the New Jersey Association for Justice. Contributions to PAC are used to support candidates in state legislative races. Issues such as auto insurance reform, medical negligence, consumer rights and other issues of concern to members of NJAJ are part of our agenda in Trenton. Click here to join the NJAJ PAC.
