The Honorable Donald J. Volkert, Jr., was appointed to the Bench in 1992 and retired in 2015 as Assignment Judge for the Passaic Vicinage. During his tenure. He served as Presiding Judge of the Family, Criminal, and General Equity Divisions of the Court and as Chair of the Statewide Conference of Family Presiding Judges. Judge Volkert also served three years as a New Jersey Delegate to the National Conference of State Trial Judges, During his judicial career, he served on numerous conferences and committees, including the Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Education, as a member of the Judicial Council and as a Master in the Seton Hall Law School Inn of Court . Judge Volkert is a frequent lecturer for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, at a Judicial College and Judicial Orientation for newly appointed judges, as well as numerous other seminars and programs. He is currently of Counsel to Lum, Drasco & Positan, LLC where the focus of his practice is on media tion, arbitration, service as a Discovery Master and providing litigation support in state and federal court.
