Donald E. Haviland is the Managing Member of Haviland Hughes, a boutique law firm that advises and represents individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and governmental entities in a wide array of complex commercial litigation and pre-litigation matters. He is a proud graduate of Rutgers College, Rutgers University, Class of 1987, who began his legal career with the renowned class action litigation scholar, Herb Newberg, author of the seminal treatise, Newberg on Class Actions. In the 24 years since Mr. Newberg’s passing, Mr. Haviland has concentrated his law practice in the area of complex commercial and consumer class action litigation. The hallmark of such practice is the innovative litigation strategies and approaches Haviland Hughes brings to bear in the cases it litigates in state and federal courts around the country.
Founded in the late 1940s and incorporated in 1976, the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey. NJAJ is a statewide association of over 2,700 members in private practice and public service, paralegals, law clerks, law students and law school graduates not yet admitted to the bar.
