Judge Firko was appointed to the Bench in Bergen County in June of 2008. She has served in both the Civil Division and the Chancery Division, Family Part where she is currently assigned. She handles matters involving Dissolution and Domestic Violence matters. Judge Firko obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Seton Hall University and went on to attend Seton Hall University, School of Law, where she obtained her J.D. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Burrell Ives Humphreys, Assignment Judge, Hudson County. Thereafter, Judge Firko worked as an associate at Gillespie, Gillespie & Jablonski, and went on to work at Lum, Drasco & Positan as a partner for over 20 years. In private practice, Judge Firko handled a variety of Civil and Family matters.
Founded in the late 1940s and incorporated in 1976, the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey. NJAJ is a statewide association of over 2,700 members in private practice and public service, paralegals, law clerks, law students and law school graduates not yet admitted to the bar. NJAJ is dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s families by working to preserve and strengthen the laws for safer products and workplaces, a cleaner environment and quality health care.
